About our Presenter:
Dr. Amanda Schoonmaker is a Research Chair in Boreal Reclamation and Reforestation at NAIT’s Centre for Boreal Research. Amanda obtained a BScF at the University of British Columbia and PhD at the University of Alberta. She has a field-based, eco-physiological plant background with 20 years of field research experience. Since joining NAIT in 2011, she has been working on applied research projects in forest land reclamation and post-harvest reforestation. Research topics in these areas have largely focused on managing vegetation competition to support target tree establishment, seedling planting topics, particularly around timing of seedling establishment, seedling quality and novel methods of native plant propagation.
